WGHA Ambassador Program
Seattle BioMed and other members of the Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) work to enhance and expand Washington State’s global health impact. Through the WGHA Ambassador education program, we ensure the future viability of this vision by engaging secondary educators and students in an interdisciplinary learning environment.
The Ambassadors creative framework is designed with input from educators and global health leaders to organize and integrate 11th grade chemistry, US history and Algebra II Washington State standards into a year-long curriculum of cross-cutting ideas, instructional practices and innovative assessment methodologies under the overarching core of global health. Through this program, teachers advanced their global health content and career knowledge and confidence as 21st century educators; and the students who piloted these materials had advanced mastery of their course standards and an increased interest in the global health sector.
